History of IQ Test

The intelligence test, which was originally prepared by the French psychologist Alfred Binet and Thédore Simon in 1905, was used primarily by the French Ministry of Education. It has become the current IQ test by dividing the age of intelligence by chronological age and reaching the intelligence coefficient.

Although the concept of intelligence test was first developed to measure students school performance, it was used over time to measure the success of individuals in all areas of life.
The most widely used and accepted intelligence tests that measure spatial, numerical and verbal abilities are Stanford-Binet, Leither, Wechsler (Wisc-r) tests. It is known that these tests point to a statistical result rather than a precise information, that is, it gives an approximate value of the capacity to use intelligence instead of measuring intelligence.
